Position Overview
FedEx Express is hiring Avionics Technicians to maintain and repair electronic systems on its cargo aircraft fleet. You will troubleshoot and repair flight instruments, navigation systems, autopilot computers, communication radios, and weather radar using schematics, wiring diagrams, and specialized test equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair avionics systems including flight management computers, autopilot servos, and GPS navigation units.
- Perform line-replaceable unit swaps on communication radios, transponders, and flight data recorders per maintenance manuals.
- Interpret complex aircraft wiring diagrams and schematic drawings to isolate intermittent electrical faults.
- Conduct functional tests and system calibrations using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and dedicated avionics test sets.
- Complete all maintenance entries, return-to-service documentation, and parts tracking per FAR Part 121 and FedEx standards.
Qualifications & Benefits
Must hold an FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) or FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate with avionics specialization. Minimum 3 years commercial avionics maintenance experience on transport-category aircraft preferred. Must read and interpret wiring diagrams fluently. Ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends.
