About FedEx Express Swing Courier Operations

Swing couriers are the flexible backbone of every FedEx Express station. While regular couriers run fixed daily routes, swing couriers rotate across multiple routes to cover vacations, sick calls, training days, and volume overflow. This constant variety means swing couriers develop the broadest territory knowledge in the station — learning every neighborhood, every business complex, and every dock access point across the entire service area. This experience positions swing couriers for priority selection into the most desirable permanent route bids.

Position Overview

FedEx Express is hiring Swing Couriers to provide flexible route coverage across all delivery and pickup routes at local station facilities. You will be assigned a different route each day based on coverage needs, quickly adapting to unfamiliar territories, customer bases, and delivery sequences. This is a full-time direct-hire FedEx Express position with complete benefits and accelerated route bid eligibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Cover any courier route in the station on short notice, studying route guides and stop notes each morning before departure.
• Deliver and pick up priority overnight, two-day, and international shipments meeting all service commitment windows.
• Adapt quickly to unfamiliar neighborhoods, commercial complexes, and customer dock procedures on rotating assignments.
• Operate company-provided FedEx Express delivery vehicles safely in diverse urban, suburban, and rural territories.
• Build comprehensive territory knowledge across the full station service area to position for permanent route bidding.

Qualifications & Benefits

Must be 21+ with a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to lift 75 lbs. Must pass DOT physical, background check, and drug screen. Strong navigation instincts and ability to perform independently with minimal route familiarity.
