FedEx Express has developed a student courier trainee pathway that allows enrolled college and trade school students to begin building the skills, route knowledge, and driving record needed for a full-time courier position — all while maintaining their academic schedule. Student trainees start in sort handling and customer service support roles, progress into ride-along observation shifts with experienced couriers, and ultimately earn eligibility for part-time Saturday or pickup route assignments that build real delivery experience on their record.

Position Overview

FedEx Express is hiring Student Courier Trainees who are currently enrolled in college or trade school and want to build toward a full-time FedEx Express courier career after graduation. You will begin with station sort handling and customer counter support duties, progress into supervised courier ride-along shifts, and advance toward independent part-time route assignments as your skills and schedule allow.

Key Responsibilities

• Start with station sort handling duties — scanning, sorting, and loading courier vehicles during morning or evening sort shifts.
• Cross-train on customer counter operations learning FedEx shipping services, rate tools, and customer interaction skills.
• Complete supervised ride-along shifts with experienced couriers observing route execution, delivery procedures, and customer interactions.
• Study FedEx Express service standards, DOT regulations, and vehicle operation requirements in preparation for courier qualification.
• Progress toward independent part-time courier assignments on Saturday routes or afternoon pickup runs as training milestones are met.

No prior work experience required.
