About FedEx Express Global Trade Services
FedEx Express moves goods across more international borders than any other carrier — navigating a labyrinth of trade agreements, tariff schedules, export controls, and import regulations that vary by country, commodity, and transaction value. International Trade Specialists are the regulatory experts who ensure every cross-border shipment complies with U.S. export administration regulations, foreign import requirements, and international trade sanctions — protecting both FedEx and its customers from costly compliance violations.
Position Overview
FedEx Express is hiring International Trade Specialists to manage export compliance, trade documentation, and regulatory advisory functions at international gateway facilities. You will screen shipments against denied party lists, classify commodities under Export Administration Regulations, advise customers on trade documentation requirements, and support government agency audits. This is a specialized compliance role requiring deep knowledge of international trade law.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen all outbound international shipments against U.S. government denied party, entity, and sanctions lists.
- Classify export commodities under EAR Export Control Classification Numbers to determine licensing requirements.
- Review and validate export documentation including Electronic Export Information filings, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin.
- Advise commercial customers and internal sales teams on country-specific import requirements and trade documentation needs.
- Support BIS, OFAC, and CBP audit requests by compiling shipment records, classification justifications, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications & Benefits
Bachelor's degree in international business, supply chain, or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years experience in export compliance, customs brokerage, or international trade operations. Knowledge of EAR, ITAR, OFAC sanctions, and HTS classification required. Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist designation a plus. FedEx Express offers competitive trade specialist salary, weekday schedule, full medical/dental/vision, pension, 401(k), flight benefits, and professional certification sponsorship.
