About FedEx Loss Prevention

FedEx moves billions of dollars worth of customer merchandise through its network daily, and the Loss Prevention team is the investigative arm that protects this freight from theft, diversion, and fraud. Loss Prevention Specialists conduct covert and overt investigations into package theft, employee dishonesty, vendor fraud, and organized criminal activity targeting FedEx shipments. Working with law enforcement, internal audit, and operations leadership, these specialists combine investigative skills with data analytics to identify theft patterns and build cases that result in criminal prosecution and civil recovery.

Position Overview

FedEx is hiring Loss Prevention Specialists to investigate theft, fraud, and security incidents across assigned facility territories. You will conduct surveillance operations, interview subjects, analyze shipment data for theft indicators, prepare case files for law enforcement referral, and recommend security countermeasures. This is an investigative professional role within the FedEx corporate security organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate reported and suspected package theft, employee dishonesty, and organized cargo theft activity at FedEx facilities.
• Conduct covert and overt surveillance using CCTV review, physical observation, and controlled delivery techniques.
• Analyze shipment data and claims patterns to identify theft hotspots, suspect trends, and systemic vulnerability points.
• Conduct investigative interviews with suspects, witnesses, and reporting parties following Wicklander-Zulawski or similar methodology.
• Prepare comprehensive case files with evidence documentation for law enforcement referral, prosecution support, and civil recovery.

Qualifications & Benefits

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years loss prevention, investigation, or law enforcement experience. Wicklander-Zulawski interview certification or similar investigative training preferred. Strong report writing, analytical, and surveillance skills required. Must pass comprehensive background check.
